Abraham "Abe" L. Horner, 64, of Allport, formerly of State College and Chichester Delaware Co. died Friday, December 28, 2007 at his residence.
He was born on February 12, 1943 in Oak Hall to the late John W. and Marian Mae Burchfield Horner.
He married Margaret "Peg" C. Greene on August 3, 1991 who survives at home.
He was a 1961 graduate of State College High School.
He worked for Boeing in Ridley Twp. for forty years retiring in 2002 as a manager in the Tool and Die dept.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also shot pool for Pete & Mel's. He enjoyed watching all sports.
In addition to his wife he is survived by eight children, Shanon, Christina, Richard, Michael, Lisa, Scott, Dana and Daniel all of Chichester; twelve grandchildren, one he raised as his own, Brittney Hottle of Allport; two brothers, John Jr. Horner of Pine Grove Mills and Frank Horner of State College; two sisters, Violet Ross of Bellefonte and Cecille Burkholder of Unionville; and a mother in law, Marie D. Gibson of Chichester.
He was a devoted father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, Robert and George Horner; and four sisters, Isabel Wagner, Bernadine McClintic, Cora Mae Snyder and Nellie Hanscom.
Friends will be received from Noon to 2:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Lauder officiating.
Burial will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
