Alan M. Addleman, 55, of Centre Hall, died Monday, December 27, 2010, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Born on February 27, 1955, in Bellefonte, he was a son of Lois M. (Horner) Addleman of Centre Hall and the late Richard T. Addleman, Sr.
He was married to Christel Flickinger who survives at home.
Alan was a laborer for construction companies prior to becoming disabled. He was a US Army veteran who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his mother who he visited her home daily. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to listen to music mainly blue grass. He was also an animal lover.
When Alan was told he had cancer, he accepted his diagnosis with peace, he wanted to be strong and protect his family.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by three brothers, Richard T. "Tom" Jr., (Janet), Charles A. "Chuck" and Larry F. " Red" (Holly) Addleman all of Centre Hall; three sisters, Joan (Richard) Lassman of Lemont, Jean Covalt of Zion and Judy (Larry) Poponak of Bellefonte, he was a special uncle to Teri Jones, Tammy Black, Dave, Doug and Stacy Wance, Shellie Eger, Kellie Confer, Hunter, Kimberly, Danielle, Tracy, and Justine Addleman, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother-in-law Tony Coval and a nephew Randy Wance.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 30, 2010, at the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, 16801 with the Reverend Howard Woodruff officiating.
Burial in Zion Hill Cemetery will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Alan's name may be made to the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, or Centre Crossing Hospice, 2437 Commercial Blvd., State College, PA 16801.
