IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan
Stright
December 5, 1964 – August 1, 2023
Alan Stright, 58, of State College, PA died on Tuesday August 1, 2023 at 11:12A.M. at Geisinger Hospital in Danville, PA. He was born Dec 5, 1964 in North Carolina, the son of the late Elmer Dale and Velma G. Stright.
Alan grew up in State College, PA graduating from State College High School in the early 1980's . His quest for adventure led him to move to New York City to experience city life.
After several years, Alan returned to State College and he began working at The People's Drug Store in the Nittany Mall. While working there, the management team from David Weis happened to observe Alan's great rapport with the customers and offered him a position at the David Weis store on Benner Pike.
Following employment at David Weis, Alan was recruited to work at That Pet Place downtown Beaver Ave until that business closed. He then was recruited to work at The Candy Cane Store on College Ave by the store's owner. When the owner decided to close the business, Alan began employment at the American Red Cross on Beaver Ave. Upon leaving the Red Cross, Alan then sought his last employment working as a front desk clerk at the Ramada Inn on South Atherton for over 10 years.
Alan was known for his love of travel and spirit for adventure! His very favorite places to visit and have fun were Hershey Park and Knoebels. He loved eating out at restaurants, taking trips to the Amish country and most of all doing these things alongside his closest friends. He was known for his great sense of humor, which helped him cope and deal with much of his own personal and serious health issues throughout life. Alan very much loved and missed his dog Keesha who passed away several years ago.
Alan is sadly missed by his friends and former coworkers. As per Alan's request, there will not be a viewing. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date by his closest friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com
