Obituary

ALice M. Glasgow Hoover, 89, of Centre Hall, died Sunday, November 27, 2005 at the Atrium at Penn State, in State College.
She was born July 22, 1916 in Potter Township, a daughter of the late David and Lettie Kline Glasgow.
On May 19, 1937, in the United Methodist Church parsonage in Milesburg, she married Thomas Wayne Hoover who preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1991.
Mrs. Hoover worked as a domestic in private residences in State College. During World War II, she worked at Titan Metals in Bellefonte, helping to produce shell casings for the war.
She was a member of the former Presbyterian Church in Centre Hall. When the Presbyterian, E. U. B. and Methodist churches merged, she became a charter member of Grace United Methodist Church in Centre Hall,
Alice was a devoted and skilled homemaker and enjoyed decorating her home. She also enjoyed traveling, walking and was an avid bird and animal watcher.
She was the last of her generation and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Miriam Lansberry, Edith Baird, Mary Gates, and Dorothy Luse, and a brother William Glasgow.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at the funeral home, with her pastor the Rev. Dan J. Smith and pastor Vince Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Centre Hall.
