Alice M. Lutz, 82, of Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville, formerly of Bellefonte, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at the Retirement Community.
Mrs. Lutz was born June 23, 1923 in Potter Township, a daughter of the late C. Fred and Cora Osman Slack.
On September 1, 1948, she married James I. Lutz, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2002.
Mrs. Lutz is survived by three sisters, Sara Wagner of Harrisburg, Jean Dunklebarger of Centre Hall, and Miriam Whitman of Winter Haven, FL, along with fifteen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Brown and Shirley Slack, and one brother, Fred Slack.
Alice graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School in 1941. She was employed in clerical work at Penn State University for many years.
She is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall.
Quilting, sewing and gardening were among her favorite pastimes.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Pennsylvania Ave. and Ridge St., Centre Hall, PA, with the Reverend S. Leigh Pick officiating. Friends will be received in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the memorial service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
