Alice M. Witmer. 85, of Centre Hall, died Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.

She was born January 18, 1931 at Williamsburg, PA, a daughter of the late John and Maude Roberts Butts.

On October 28, 1949 she married Calvin "Winn" Witmer Sr. who preceded her in death August 15, 2014.

Mrs. Witmer worked at Hanover and for many years in area grocery stores including the Emery's Store and Luses IGA all in Centre Hall.

She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and Progress Grange in Centre Hall, and a former member of the Centre Hall Fire Company Auxiliary.

Among the things she enjoyed most were canning, attending yard sales, and baking

Surviving Mrs. Witmer are three daughters, Linda M. Wooster (Jim) of Woodland, Connie L. Zellers (Gary) and Jody L Lair (Bob) both of Centre Hall; one son Calvin Winn "Chip" Witmer Jr. (Ruth Ann) of Bellefonte; one brother, Frank Butts (Barb) of Centre Hall; eight grandchildren, James Jr., Christopher and Ryan Wooster, Gary Jr. and Steven Zellers, Brett Witmer, Steven Rayhorn, and Nicole Lair, and twelve great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Irwin, and Jean Huffman and three brothers, John, Charles, and Harry Butts.

Friends will be received from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2016, and Saturday, September 17, 2016, from 9:00am10:00am, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA The funeral will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 17, 2016, at the funeral home with the Reverend Rebecca Horn and the Reverend James Wooster Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery, West Church St. Centre Hall.
