Obituary

Alma Pressler Spicer, 95, of State College, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Elmcroft of State College Assisted Living Center.
She was born in Newton Hamilton, PA on June 13, 1913 to the late Newton L. and Laura (Rosenbery) Pressler.
In 1950, she married George R. Spicer who preceded her in death on April 6, 2005.
She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She also loved African violets and playing the piano. She was also an old fashioned homemaker.
She was a member of the Gray's United Methodist Church, where she played the piano for many years.
Alma is survived by one son, Dennis Spicer of Centre Hall; two daughters, Georgeanna Hillard and her husband Richard of Lemont, and Kathy Barr and her husband Kevin of Port Matilda; a brother, Harrison Pressler of Tyrone; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Newton Pressler.
A Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, with Pastor Shane Laneherr officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.
