Almeda A. Lucas, 88, of Elizabeth, PA formerly of State College, PA, died Monday, August 15, 2005.
She was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Stoystown, PA, a daughter of the late Alvin and Elizabeth Davis Henninger.
On August 10, 1946 she married Wilson W. Lucas Sr. who preceded her in death on March 1, 1986.
Mrs. Lucas worked as a waitress at G. C. Murphy's in State College and at the Nittany Lion Inn.
She was a member of State College Presbyterian Church, where earlier in life she served as a Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by two daughters, Leona Cowfer of Tyrone and Linda Lucas of Lewistown, one son, Wilson W. Lucas Jr. of Elizabeth, PA; three sisters. Armina Knight of Roulette, PA, Florence Stem of the Harrisburg area, and Betty Wilkerson of Pine Grove Mills; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, PC, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
