Amy R. Swab, 79, of State College died Monday, January 14, 2019, in the loving care of her daughter and son -in- law.

Amy was born November 20, 1939 in Altoona, PA; a daughter of the late Robert S. and Kathleen V. (Bierly) Stewart. On January 11, 1963 she married William "Bill" Swab who preceded her in death on November 3, 1998.

Before Amy was a homemaker she was a civil engineer for eleven years. She enjoyed the outdoors which included bird watching, gardening and walking in the woods. Amy's love of nature was reflected in her stunning vegetable and flower gardens which she tended with loving care. She also loved making her homemade jelly and pickles, but most importantly she cherished time spent with her family.

Amy had a strong faith in God that sustained her all her life; she was a member of the Altoona Bible Church.

Surviving Amy is her daughter, Loralee Swab and her husband Vincent McDonald of State College; sister–in–law, Shari (Jerry) of Newmanstown, PA; and three cousins, Kathy Swab, Laureen Evans, and Paul McCormick.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
