Anita Mae Cable McChesney, 99, of State College died Monday, March 31, 2008, at Greenhills Village in State College.
She was born August 23, 1908 in Millheim, a daughter of the late Henry Clay and Susan Waite Cable.
She is survived by three sons, Ralph McChesney and his wife Delores of Lemont, Mike McChesney of Reedsville, and Pat McChesney and his wife Annette of Pleasant Gap; one step-daughter, Barbara Custer and husband Howie of Johnstown and a step-son Ernest McChesney Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Phoenix, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Susan McChesney; two sisters, Rhoda Cable and Madeline Bierly; and three brothers, Ralph Cable, Lloyd Cable and Russell Cable
She was a graduate of Millheim High School. She was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time in the woods, working in her kitchen, playing bingo and attending Grange Fair.
At her request, there will be no public visitation. Private funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family with the Reverend Howard Woodruff officiating.
