Ann T. Mendum

State College resident Ann T. Mendum passed away on June 1, 2018.  Ann was born August 20, 1932, in Phoenix, AZ and received a bachelor's degree in speech and theater from  the University of Arizona in Tucson in 1954 and a master's in dance from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

While in Madison, she met and married Joseph Hawley Mendum.  They eventually settled in Annandale, Virginia, to raise their three children.  Throughout her adult life, Ann taught dance and movement classes for students of all ages, from toddlers to senior citizens.  She was an avid gardener, played piano and supported a wide range of progressive causes.

She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Marie Mendum of State College and Mary Lou Mendum of Davis, California, a son, Thomas H.E. Mendum of Framingham, Massachusetts, and four grandchildren: Noah, Rebecca, Vera and Annabel.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held on June 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County, 780 Waupelani Drive Ext. in State College, PA 16803.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Planned Parenthood Federation of America, PO Box 97166, Washington, D.C. 20077-7543.
