Anna I. Foster, age 86, of State College, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2009 at Hearthside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 19, 1922, in College Township a daughter of the late Alfred W. and Bertha E. (Gross) Lyle.
On December 22, 1943 in Winchester VA she married Frederick C. Foster who preceded her in death on June 20, 1999. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Shope on July 17, 1997.
Anna was a member of the Woodycrest United Methodist Church. She loved to attend church on Sundays and then cook a big meal for her family.
She is survived by three sons; William C. and Ronald E. Foster both of State College and David R Foster and his wife Barbara of Port Matilda, two brothers: William Lyle and his wife Sandra of State College and Ken Lyle of State College, three sisters: Charlotte Witmer and her husband Merrill "Andy" of Newtown, PA, Naomi Alderton of Reynoldsville, PA and Sarah Appleton of State College, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, where funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:00 am with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Houserville Cemetery in College Township.
