Anne K. Poorman, 96, formerly of Reedsville, Outlook Pointe, and 1360 Linn St., State College, went home to be with our Lord, on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Centre Crest Nursing Center in Bellefonte.
She was born April 28, 1910 in Lewistown, a daughter of the late William Fern and Blanche Carpenter Sager.
On June 8, 1953 she married Toner (Jim) Poorman who preceded her in death on in July of 1984.
Surviving are a brother Merrill K. Sager of State College, nephews Bill Wheeler and his wife Darlene of Centre Hall, Harry Myers of Lewistown, and Thomas Brouse and Gary and Mike Sager all of State College; and nieces Ann Wishard and Donnis DeChristopher both of Huntingdon, and Linda Smith of Centre Hall, and a numerous nieces and nephews who live out of the area.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters Irene M. Brouse and Esther R. Myers and a brother William F. Sager.
She was active in her church for many years and devoted much of her life to the Order Eastern Star, where she served in many positions including Grand Matron.
Mrs. Poorman worked at numerous jobs throughout her life always making a valuable contribution. She was a very social lady always tending to the needs of family and friends.
She loved canning and sharing the fruits of her labor and entertaining.
She will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p. m. Friday, November 3, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA with her nephew Bill Wheeler as eulogist and The Rev. Russell L. Sauerwein officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
