Ardenne "Ardie" Davis Sanders, 79, reunited with her Lord on April 2, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Reno, NV.
She was born January 2, 1932 in Marquette, MI, the eldest daughter of Arthur F. and Rubye Seitz Davis, who both preceded her in death. Her eldest daughter, Sherry Lynn Sanders Tait (Barkley) passed away two years ago.
Ardie graduated in 1949 from the State College High School where she was active in numerous activities. She especially enjoyed being one of the band majorettes.
Most of her adult life was spent devoted to caring for her three granddaughters, Vanessa, Sara, and Kristin, where they were all living in an extended family atmosphere.
Her interests were varied including antiquing, Penn State football, "Peachy Paterno" ice cream and making sure her granddaughters had ice skating lessons and enjoyed the sport as much as she did.
She is survived by two sisters, Loralee (Lori) Davis Carter Chaney (Gary) of Lake Tahoe, CA, and Cheryl Davis Miller (Edward) of State College and Hilton Head, SC. Also surviving is her second daughter, Evelyn Sanders Patchett of Destin, FL and many nieces and nephews.
During the last six months, Ardie was cared for by her nephew and his wife, Brian and Julie Carter, both nurses, in Sparks, NV.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
