December 14, 1952 – June 4, 2022
Barbara Hartman King 69 of State College, passed away peacefully at her home On Saturday June 4, 2022. Born on December 14, 1952 in Bellefonte Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd (Dick) and Esther (Reitz) Hartman.
She is survived by her two children, daughter, Sherry (King) Minarchick (Duane) of Pennsylvania Furnace and son, Terry King (Lisa) of Tyrone and her two grandsons Kameren King of Lewistown and Seth King of Tyrone and five great grandsons, along with granddaughter, Amber Minarchick Myers(Bryan) of Montgomery Pa. Also surviving are her two brothers, Harold Hartman of Fl. and Larry Hartman (Lori) of State College; sisters-in-law, Kazuko Hartman of Fl. and Jackie Hartman of Port Matilda; nephews, Sam, Erik, Chris and Bobby and niece, Seirra Hartman.
Along
with her parents, she was preceded in death by
her brother, Robert (Bobby) Hartman and her granddaughter, Ashley Johnson.
Barbara
went to State College High School.
She was dedicated to the family's business Hartman Trucking - contractors for the United States Postal Service - until her retirement. She worked in all facets of her parents business; anything from driving truck to secretarial duties to fixing mechanical issues. Barb was also dedicated to farming and her multitude of animals almost her entire life. She was selfless by opening her farm to others. She might have been little, but she was mighty. She loved her dogs and horses. She enjoyed spending her time with her family. She was one that people called with a variety of questions whether animal, history, genealogy and many other subjects. She had such a wealth of knowledge. She enjoyed reading and doing sudoku and crossword puzzles. She found joy tending to her animals and large variety of plants. She was an avid recycler and animal rescuer. She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary Post 245 in State College.
Family and friends will be hosting a Celebration of Life July 10, 2022 1pm-5pm at The Pine Grove Mills VFW Post 5825 500 West Pine Grove Road, PA Furnace, Pa 16865
