Betty's parents died while she was still young, after which, she bonded with the pastor's family, Rev. & Mrs. Wilbur Hoskins. They considered her as family, although they were not related. After the Hoskins passed away, Betty lived with their son, Michael & wife, Carol Hoskins, for 12 1/2 years; making a total of more than 60 years with her "adopted" family.

She is survived several cousins, in OH, Lewis (Doris) Reed & Larry (Patty) Reed, Monet Young, Edna Hostetler & Wanda Sabo. Also surviving are her Hoskins family "nephews", Ted (Connie) Hoskins, Bill (Kay) Hoskins, & Michael (Carol) Hoskins & their families.

The Church of Christ in Christian Union of Wellston, OH was Betty's home church. After moving to PA, she attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mt. Pleasant Mills, PA, the Evangelical Methodist Church, Richfield, PA, and the God's Missionary Church, Milesburg, PA.

Betty worked at the E.E. Chambers Department Store in Wellston, OH for 14 yrs. After moving to PA in 1958, she worked at the Selinsgrove Center, Selinsgrove, PA, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Prior to her retirement, she thoroughly enjoyed being the "mother" in charge, of the "family setting" with the residents there.

Betty loved attending church services, traveling, her pet poodle, Cuddles, & reading.
