Betty "Jane" Lucas, age 87, of Bellefonte, passed away on January 9, 2023. Born September 15, 1935 in Newberry, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Lucille (McLelland) Cohick. She was the second of two daughters and was preceded in death by her dear sister Carolyn.

August 26, 1956, Jane married Lester P. Lucas who survives at home. Jane and Lester shared over sixty-six years together. After living in Lock Haven and Bellefonte, they spent many years living in Confer's Development in Milesburg. In 1957, they started a family and being a mom was Jane's greatest joy. She loved her three boys very much. She loved providing a fun and happy home and was never afraid of being silly or having a laugh especially if it was to entertain the boys. She had many friends and enjoyed her walks and talks with them through the neighborhood. She loved and greatly missed her canine friend Lucie.

Jane was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Bellefonte, PA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Perry Lucas and his wife Joyce who reside in Williamsburg, VA, Larry Lucas and his wife Amy who reside in Runville, PA and Rich Lucas and his wife Brenda who reside in State College, PA. Jane was blessed with 6 grandchildren Jacob Lucas, Silas Lucas (Casey), Ethan Lucas (Brianna), Marlena Hicks (Will), Julia Lucas (Tom Stroemel), and Max Lucas. Jane also has two great grandchildren, Parker Lucas and Will Hicks V. Jane also loved her nephew Bob Jessop (Gerenda) and her niece Linda Frank (Robert).

Friends will be received from 10:00AM - 11:00AM on Friday, January 13, 2023, with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00AM at the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home 1034 Benner Pike State College, PA 16801, the Pastor Stephen Hicks will be officiating. Jane will be laid to rest at the Centre County Memorial Park.
