Beulah Louise Whitman, 79, of Centre Hall, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.
She was born July 21, 1926, in Centre Hall, a daughter of the late D. Milton and Blanche E. Meeker Bradford.
Beulah graduated from Centre Hall Potter High School and attended Thompson Business Institute in Harrisburg for two years.
On April 14, 1945, at Langley Air Force Base, in Virginia, she married Richard E. Whitman who survives at home. Her death breaks a union of sixty one years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Kim Bradford Whitman and his wife Beverly of Elizabethtown and Richard A. (Petey) Whitman and his wife Kay of Centre Hall; two brothers, George "Dod" Woodrow Bradford and his wife Margaret, and Dean Calvin Bradford and his wife Marian, both of Stuart, FL; five grandchildren, Richard P. Whitman and his wife Michele, Devin S. Whitman and his good friend Tracey Baird, Alissa Whitman and her fiance Greg Martin, Kyle B. Whitman and Adam J. Whitman; and three great grandchildren Keira Whitman, Tara Whitman and Sammy Martin
Her parents; four sisters, Faye McClellan, Isabelle McCormick, Bertha Walker and Ellen Sempeles, and two brothers, Harold "Jack" Bradford and Robert E. Bradford preceded her in death.
Mrs. Whitman was a homemaker and worked at the First National Bank of Centre Hall for twenty years.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Centre Hall. She especially enjoyed bowling and had been a member of several bowling leagues in Millheim. She also enjoyed bird watching and flower gardening.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, June 30, 2006, at the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery on West Church Street in Centre Hall, with the Rev. George Burn, officiating. Burial will be in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall.
