IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonnie Lou
Mcelrath
April 29, 1938 – June 9, 2024
Angel Mom, Grandmother, Sister, RN and Care Giver
Bonnie
Lou McElrath was an Angel Mom, Grandmother, Sister, and Registered Nurse who
dedicated her life for caring and healing others. She is forever known for her
gift of serving all those in need in healing, peace, and comfort.
Bonnie
died on Sunday June 9, 2024, in State College, PA; she was 86.
Bonnie
was born on April 29, 1938 to the late William F. Fetter and Marion M. Bond in
Berwick, PA.
Bonnie
attended Harrisburg Polyclinic and was a Registered Nurse for over 40
years. Her duties and career included a
lead Operating Room Nurse, Private Duty Nurse, Berwick Hospital and Berwick
Retirement Care Facility Supervisory RN.
During her 40 plus tenure as a Registered Nurse she received several
awards and was often "requested" to be a family's primary nurse. She was always caring for her family,
extended family, and friends at a moment's notice. She was called to care and bring comfort and peace
to anyone who asked. In addition to being
the Family Nurse on any and all Health-related matters, Bonnie was always very
conscientious in serving her patients with dignity, respect and true
compassion.
Bonnie
is survived by her son, Dennis C. McElrath, his wife, Kathy Ann K. McElrath and
grandchildren, Ava Kimie, Charles Christian and Hugh Eric McElrath of State
College, PA; grandson, Kyle Batton; her sister, Linda Mae Watts and other
relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Fetter;
sister, Sally Ann Johnson and grandson, Ethan James McElrath. Bonnie found so
much joy being with her family and grandchildren. In her later years, Bonnie
was often found outside manicuring her lawn and flower beds, visiting friends
and family and quiet times with her cats which she loved dearly. Bonnie always
greeted others with a Big Smile, Hug, and "I Love You" and so many people
shared that she was an Angel. During her time in State College, she so enjoyed
extending her smiles to everyone as a Greeter at Christ Community Church
