Bruce D. Luse, 70, of Pleasant Gap passed away December 12, 2007 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. He was a patient at that facility since October 8, 2007 due to a fall.
He was the son of the late Ralph and Mildred Long Luse. An infant brother also preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Ruth, two daughters - Theresa Yearick of Bellefonte, and Tammy Evans of McClure, two sons - David of Frenchville and Raymond of Pleasant Gap. There are five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother Richard of Center Hall, a sister, Inez Lauck of Pine Grove Mills, and brothers Dean of Pine Grove Mills and William of Center Hall also survive him.
He retired in 1996 from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Dog Law having served as the Region 5 Dog Law Supervisor.
He was a lifetime member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Centre Hall, the Pleasant Gap Fire Company and the Central District Volunteer Fireman's Association, and the Bellefonte Elks #1094. He was a past treasurer of the Masonic Lodge #537 in Centre Hall, past District Deputy of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and member of the Ancient Scottish Rite of Altoona. He was a member of Centre Forest #129, the Order of the Amaranth #121, the Logan Grange #109, and a seventh degree member of the State Grange, a member of the Democratic Club and the Nittany Antique Machinery Association, Inc.
He was an avid bowler and participated in leagues at the Millheim Lanes. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Centre Hall. The family will hold viewings Friday, December 14 from 6 to 8 PM with a Masonic Service starting at 8 PM and Saturday, December 15 from 10 - 11 AM. The funeral will follow at 11 AM. Internment will take place immediately following the service at the Lutheran & Reform Cemetery, Centre Hall, PA.
The family will provide flowers for the service. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church Roof Fund; P. O. Box 331, Centre Hall, PA 16828
