B. Glenn Lightner, 85, of rural Bellefonte, died Friday, June 2, 2017, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.
He was born February 2, 1932, at Manor Hill, Huntingdon County, a son of the late Elmer and Cora Whitsell Lightner.
In 1985 he married Martha "Martie" Ellen Confer Lightner who survives at home.
Glenn graduated from Juniata Valley High School.
He was employed as an over the road truck driver for many years, and more recently for Centre Concrete. He also served as a master of ceremonies at local Bluegrass Festivals, and worked at the Philipsburg Radio Station as an announcer.
Mr. Lightner was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Unionville, and a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association Spring Mills. An avid and accomplished rifleman, Glenn shot competitively on rifle teams for many years, and enjoyed bowling at the Bellefonte Lanes.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Walker of Harleysville; one son Allen Lightner of Buffalo, NY; two step-daughters, Crystal Bennett (Michael) of Julian, and Shawnee Mattis (Andy) of Clarence; three step-sons, Lynn Perryman Jr. (Patricia Bickle) of Pleasant Gap, Keith Perryman (Vicky) of Colorado Springs, CO and James Perryman (Carol) of Unionville; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two half brothers, and two half sisters.
Friends will be received from 11:30 to 1:00 pm Tuesday June 6, 2017, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A memorial service will follow immediately at 1:00 p. at the funeral home with the Pastor Jack Palmer officiating. Burial will be Mooresville Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
