Carl David Bennett, 72 of Julian, passed away on Friday, June 6 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
Carl was born on August 16, 1935 in Wingate, Centre County, son of the late Harold "Huck" and Vivian (Fisher) Bennett.
He was a 1953 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School.
Carl retired in 1997 after 27 years of service with Raytheon Systems, formerly HRB Singer.
Carl was an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Centre Lodge Number 153. An avid NASCAR fan, Carl also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by a sister, Louise Gingher of Bellefonte; two brothers, Eugene Bennett and Lynn Bennett both of Bellefonte; a daughter, Kimberly Schulze and her husband Richard of Vienna, VA; a son, Ronald C. Bennett and his wife Patti of Howard; two grandchildren, Father Jamie R. Workman of Alexandria, VA and Laura J. Stroup and her husband Robert of Frederick, MD; two great-granddaughters, Abigail and Victoria Stroup, both of Frederick, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 with his grandson, Father Jamie R. Workman officiating.
Grave side services and internment immediately following the funeral services will be at the Centre County Memorial Park.
