Obituary

Catherine June (Hemmes) McCoy, 80, of State College, died Monday, April 9, 2007 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
She was born June 16, 1926, at Coalport, PA, a daughter of the late Mathew and Mary F. Longcoy Hemmes.
On Feb. 29, 1948 she married Glenn E. McCoy Sr. who preceded her in death on October 20, 1994.
She is survived by three daughters, Frances M. McCoy and Jennifer L. Turnbaugh and her husband Joseph all of State College, and Sandra J. Daugherty and her husband Glen of Knoxville, TN; two sons, Glenn E. McCoy Jr.,of State College and Roger M. McCoy of Port Matilda; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. McCoy is the last of her generation, having been preceded in death by six siblings.
Catherine graduated from Coalport Beccaria High School,(BCI).
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, having traveled extensively in foreign countries. Earlier in her life she enjoyed crafts, of varied types and took many classes in crafts, furniture restoration and other creative ventures.
Mrs. McCoy was a long time member of the State College Christian Church.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p. m. at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow at 7:00 p. m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Vince Smith and the Rev. Elmer Fritz officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
