Catherine Myers Wasson, 82, of Madisonburg, joined the Lord, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born March 27, 1933, at Farmers Mills, a daughter of the late Calvin Ardell Myers and Mabel Myers Wagner.
On July 11, 1954, in Spring Mills, she married Paul E. Wasson, who survives at home.
Mrs. Wasson worked at the Weis Markets and at Temples in State College, and also served as a Tupperware Hostess.
She was an active member of New Hope Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Penns Valley Grange #158. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Among the things she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and helping others. She was an accomplished baker and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needle point and quilting.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is one daughter Marian Snavely of Sunbury; one son Douglas Wasson and his fiancee Chris Crnjar of Burnham; three brothers, Larry Myers (Ruth), Jerry Myers (Carol) and Ralph Myers (Tierney) all of Spring Mills; five grandchildren, Kylie and Tyler Wasson, Emily Shapard and Paul and John Snavely; and three great grandchildren Nicholas, Adrianna and Caine Snavely.
Friends will be received from 7 - 9 p. m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. The funeral will be 11 am, Thursday, March 17th, at New Hope Lutheran Church, 119 Cobblestone Court, Spring Mills, with the Reverend Brandon Cian officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Madisonburg.
