Charles "Chuck" B. Broberg, 77, of State College, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the Mount Nittany Medical Centre, State College.

Born January 30, 1939, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Carl and Eleanor (Rounsley) Broberg. On December 16, 1977, in Virginia, he married Elizabeth (Isenberg) Broberg who survives at home.

Chuck was a 1956 graduate from Moshannon Valley High School, and then joined the United States Army serving from 1956-1963. After his time in the service, he spent a majority of his professional career as a Manager at McClanahan's. He retired after 30 years.

He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, State College, State College Area Jaycees, and the State College American Legion Post 245.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coaching Little League baseball, and watching Penn State football. He loved traveling to the beach at the Outer Banks and fishing trips to Canada. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, most especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by two children; Kimberly M. Rittenhouse (Eric) of State College, Christopher B. Broberg (Kimberly) of Stafford, VA; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Zachariah, Elijah, Aleah, Victoriah, Cameron, and Mason.

Along with his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah.

Friends and family will be received from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00p.m. with The Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place after the service at Centre County Memorial Park.
