Charles N. Pitetti Jr, 79 of Stormstown, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2004, following a long courageous battle with Esophageal Cancer.
He was born June 6, 1925 in Landsdowne, PA a son of the late Charles N. and Rachel Marie Vasilio Pitetti Sr.
On August 25, 1951 he married the love of his life Patricia Margaret Brennan who preceded him in death November 13, 1991.
Mr. Pitetti served in the U. S. Navy in Okinawa during World War II, from 1943 - 1946. He earned a World War II Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, an American Area Campaign Medal, and an Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal. On August 7, 1947 he re-entered the Navy and served a second term through May 8, of 1950.
Mr. Pitetti graduated from Penn State University in 1954 with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He worked for many years for Long John Silvers retiring in 1995 as a district manager.
Charles was a member of the V. F. W. in Pine Grove Mills. He especially enjoyed music, dance, reading and his cats.
He will be deeply missed by his six children and his ten grandchildren. His six surviving children are Katherine Talcott, Linda Pitetti, Charles Pitetti, Hilary Washington and her husband James, Matthew Pitetti and Cecile Page and her husband Scott. His surviving ten grandchildren are, Thomas Lind Bloom, Sam Talcott, Melissa Blady, Chris Glenn, Mike Glenn, Conner Pitetti, Damien Page, Britiany Glenn, Dylan Pitetti and Eli Pitetti.
A visitation will be held from 7 - 9 p. m. Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at the funeral, home with Monsignor David A. Lockard officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
