Obituary

Charles J. Riley, 80, formerly of State College, and a guest at the Veteran's Home in Hollidaysburg, died Monday, October 1, 2007, at Tyrone Hospital in Tyrone.
He was born June 2, 1927 in Grazierville, Snyder Township, Blair County, a son of the late Joseph F. and Margaret Simms Riley.
Mr. Riley served in the U. S. Army for twenty-three years, retiring in 1968, after serving in World War II and Korea and having been on active duty during the Viet Nam War. Following his retirement he served as a volunteer and past commander for the V. F. W. in Pine Grove Mills.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College, the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in Bellefonte; the American Legion Post 779, Centre Hall; and the V. F. W. Post 5825 in Pine Grove Mills.
He is survived by a sister Margaret Fausett of Kokomo, Indiana; and one brother James Riley of Bellefonte.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Stella Marie McGredy and two brothers, Richard and John Riley.
Friends will be received on from 7 - 9 p. m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10:30 a. m. The Rosary will be recited during last hour of the visitation. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contribution in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA 16801.
