Charles M. Spigelmeyer, 96, of Salem Hill Haven, formerly of Centre Hall and Montandon, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.
He was born December 12, 1909 in West Buffalo Township, Union County, a son of the late Jasper T. and Laura E. Baker Spigelmeyer.
On June 3, 1937 he married Helen J. Showalter who died August 8, 1974. On January 20, 1979 he married Emeline F. Brungard Rudy who died August 11, 1999.
A farmer for most of his life, he farmed the same farm in Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County from 1938 until his retirement in 1988.
He attended Calvary Bible Church in Centre Hall and was a former member of Vincent Memorial Chapel in Montandon, PA. Charles especially enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
Three stepsons, Herbert Rudy of Pennsylvania Furnace, Ralph Rudy of rural Rebersburg, and Myron Rudy of Boalsburg; survive Mr. Spigelmeyer who was the last member of his family.
In addition to his parents and wives he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Shirley Harpster.
Friends will be received from 3 - 5 p. m. Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall, PA. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a. m. Monday, March 13, 2006, with Rev. Henry Dorman officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:45 Monday in the Mazeppa Cemetery, Mazeppa, PA.
