Obituary

CHRIS CORT CHASE

Chris Cort Chase,  August 26, 1981 – to July 3, 2020.

Chris Cort Chase of State College, Pennsylvania, passed away July 3, 2020.  He was 38 years old.  Born August 26, 1981 in Greeley, Colorado, Chris was the son of Barbara Treherne of Colorado and Chadwick Chase.Jr. of Maine.  In addition to his parents, Barbara and Chadwick, Chris is survived by his paternal grandparents Chadwick Chase Sr. of Washington and Patricia Chase of Colorado.  Chris is also survived by three sisters.  Cassandra (Casey) Chase of Connecticut, Caitlin Chase of Washington D.C. and Amelia Chase of Maine.  Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Arthur Treherne Senior and Reba (Brown) Treherne.

Although a private person, Chris was deeply loved by his family members and friends. Chris started Tae Kwon Do at a young age and earned his black belt.  He persevered in every aspect of his life and his thirst for knowledge could never be quenched.  He had an artistic ability that was displayed through his amazing photography.

As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, he moved from Florida to Pennsylvania in 2010 to continue his career in healthcare.  He had worked for the last 10 years at Mt. Nittany with many co workers whom he consistently talked about with his family.  In 2012, he successfully completed his 2,190 mile journey of the Appalachian Trail.  His journey consisted of him eating frosting straight from the container (no utensils needed). As an avid traveler, he enjoyed experiencing new cultures but backpacking and hiking were his true joy.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions we will be spreading Chris's ashes at a later date.  However a memorial tribute page is available to view at https://www.forevermissed.com/chris-chase/about and the family would cherish memories posted at that site.   In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Pets Come First in Centre County, Pennsylvania for their amazing care of Chris's dog, Lexi.  Planting a tree in his honor at any national park would also be an appreciated tribute
