Clair A. "Abbie" Hollobaugh, 72, of Centre Hall, died Friday. December 9, 2016 at his residence
He was born May 11, 1944 at Woodward; a son of the late Porter E. and Esther Mae Knepp Hollobaugh
On March 19, 1981 in Las Vegas he married Pamela Foust Hollobaugh who survives at home.
Clair graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1964.
During the Vietnam War, he served with the U. S. Army from October 18, 1965 through September 13, 1967, earning the National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals. He also earned the M-14 Rifle Sharpshooter Citation.
Mr. Hollobaugh retired from Penn Dot as a Fuel Truck Operator.
Camping and spending time with his grandchildren gave him great enjoyment.
Surviving Mr. Hollobaugh is one son, Brandon Hollobaugh (Hayley) of Rochester, WA; one daughter, Dulcie Hollobaugh of Centre Hall; three grandchildren, Hayden, Maverick and Juniper Hollobaugh of Rochester WA; five sisters, Caroline Gardner of Pleasant Gap, Linda Hettinger (Don) of Rebersburg, Ruth Shawver (Don) of Pleasant Gap, Sue Elliot of Liberal, KS, and Jean Fogleman (Dennis) of Milesburg; and one brother Bill Hollobaugh (Pat) of Zion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Smith and Betty Dawson and three brothers, George, Kenneth and Blair Hollobaugh.
Friends will be received from 6 - 8 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall. The funeral will be at 10 AM, Wednesday, December 14th at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, with the Reverend Rebecca Horn and the Reverend Carol Bookwalter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Zion Cemetery, Zion, PA.
