Clara "Sis" C. Ghaner, 73, of Rural Port Matilda, died Saturday, January 3, 2003 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA
She was born January 29, 1930 in Bellefonte, a daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Wolfe King.
She was married to the late Wilson M. Ghaner Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 2001.
She was a homemaker who earlier in life, with her sister, operated the former Weenie House on North Atherton St. in State College.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 245.
She attended Gray's United Methodist Church.
One of her favorite pastimes was fishing with her husband and her sister and brother in law Barb and Ernie Hampton.
Mrs. Ghaner is survived by one daughter, Cindy L. Bickel and her husband Leroy of Centre Hall; 4 sons, John E. and Michael H. Ghaner of Rural Port Matilda; Jeffrey Ghaner and his wife Denise of State College, and Joseph Ghaner and his wife Charlotte of Rural Julian; 2 brothers, John King and his wife Nancy of Lewistown, and Frank King and his wife Bev of Florida; 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son Wilson "Willie" M. Ghaner Jr.; 2 sisters, Emma Jean Shingledecker and Barb Hampton; and one brother Ernest King.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 6, from 1 - 2 p. m. at the Eloise B. Kyper Funeral Home, Inc. 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gray's Cemetery.
