Obituary

Connie "Mae" Tressler, 81, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at Centre Crest.

Born May 9, 1932, in Bellefonte, PA, a daughter of the late Guy W. Brooks and Alice Mary Marshall.

On February 18, 1948, she married Harrison "Sonny" Tressler Jr. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this February.

Connie was a Past Worthy Matron, and a lifetime member of the Centre Region Chapter 207 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap, the African Violet Society in State College, and the Shrine Ladies Auxiliary in State College.

She enjoyed golfing, and playing cards, but loved spending most of her time with her family who she loved so much.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by five brothers; Paul, Kenneth, Bill, Louis, and Philip Brooks; and one sister, Martha Weaver.

Connie is survived by three daughters; Joan I. Andrews of Pleasant Gap, Kay E. Light (Darwin) of Bellefonte, Mary A. Cowher of Bellefonte; one son, Michael A. Tressler (Angel) of Pleasant Gap; one brother, Basil Brooks (Mona) of Rebersburg; one sister, Betty Hartley of State College; nine grandchildren, Tracy Stover, Melanie Stodart, Kristen Perkinson, Aaron Murray, Tanner Light, Jessica and Mitchell Cowher, Mikenna and Benner Tressler; five great grandchildren; Taylor and Andrew Stover, Sadie and Sierra Stodart, and Kayleigh Perkinson.

The Order of the Eastern Star service will be accorded by the Centre Chapter 207, at 1:00 p.m, Friday, January 10, 2014, at The Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral Home,1034 Benner Pike, State College, the funeral service will follow, with The Reverend Kevin Shock officiating.
