Obituary

Craig P. Findley, 71, of Bellefonte formerly of Syracuse, NY died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.

Born October 3, 1945 in Syracuse he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Honaker) Findley.

On December 27, 1986 he married Marilyn DeRosa who survives in Bellefonte.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Craig was a marketing consultant for most of his working career. In addition to managing political campaigns, he headed the Special Projects Division for the City of Syracuse, was an entrepreneur, and most recently before retirement, the director of a conservation organization.

A lifetime member of the NRA and the PA Federation of Black Powder Shooters, he loved the beauty, accessibility to nature, combined with the available culture of Central Pennsylvania. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping and all shooting sports; in addition, to the simple pleasure of a good bourbon.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn he is survived by three children, Dion (Megan) Findley of Glen Rock, NJ, Grant (Karyn) Johnson of Macau, China and Danielle (Randy) Blair of Ellicott City, MD; one sister, Kathy Findley of Liverpool, NY; nine grandchildren, Dominick, Grant, Austin, Tyler, Ally, Siena, Anton, Owen and Norah and his faithful poodle, Molly.

Family and friends will be received 2-4 PM, Friday, March 10th (TODAY) at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A blessing service will follow at 4 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Father Charlie Amershek officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
