Cuma Grace Beers, 69, of McVeytown, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, November 6, 2019 surrounded by her family.
Cuma was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Varner and Virginia A. Gearheart Varner. On June 28, 1969 she married William "Bill" K. Beers, Jr. who survives at home.
Cuma was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Union High School. After graduation, she worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory, the West Shore School District and Garrett's. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, playing in her flower beds, and crocheting. Cuma was a housewife and caregiver for many children over the years and was always willing to open her home to family and friends to share a cup of coffee or for some of her famous cream filled cupcakes.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Beers, Jr., children Albert R. Beers (Wanda), and Michelle L. Snelbaker (Curtis); six grandchildren, Kyler Bingaman (Kitty), Cameron Snelbaker, Katilyn Snelbaker, Carrie Snelbaker and Aaron Snelbaker; two great grandchildren, Allison "Putt-Putt" Bingaman and Colton Snelbaker.
Cuma was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Virginia Varner.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Lewistown Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 50 Hudson Avenue, Juniata Terrace, Lewistown, PA. A memorial service will follow immediately with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Juniata Memorial Park, 9010 US Highway 522, S. Lewistown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to House of Care, 15 Trembulak Way, Danville, PA 17821.
