Daisy S. McLaughlin, 96, of State College, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township.
She was born in Commodore, PA on May 16, 1914, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Sara M. (Lauck) Stark.
She married Michael E. McLaughlin, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 13, 1995.
Daisy was a 1933 graduate of Snow Shoe High School.
Mrs. McLaughlin worked for the Penn State Creamery and following that, she was employed by Erie Tech until her retirement.
She was an avid animal lover, especially towards cats. Also, she enjoyed gardening and cooking. She will be deeply missed by all.
Daisy is survived by two daughters, Mary M. "Mickey" Ivicic (Stephen) of Bellefonte, and Linda S. McCamley (William Jr.) of State College; one son, Michael E. McLaughlin, Jr. of State College; one brother, William C. Stark of FL; six grandchildren, Susan Traxler (Timothy), Stephen T. Ivicic, Jr. (Jill), Erin C. Burke (Edward), Michael E. McLaughlin III (Kris), Adam D. Ballenger, and Drew W. McCamley; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Bathurst; and three brothers, David, Newton, and Calvin Stark.
Family will receive friends from 2 - 4 PM, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Funeral Services will follow at 4 PM at the funeral home with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating.
