Daniel P. Zettle, 41, of State College, passed away at his residence.
Dan was born, May 16, 1971, in Bellefonte, a son of James J. Zettle (Spring Mills) and of the late Nancy L. (Corl) Holsinger.
Dan graduated from Jersey Shore High School. He attended Lycoming College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dan was employed by Energy CAP, Inc., in State College, as a Software Engineer.
Dan enjoyed nature. He loved hiking, camping, bicycling, planting and arranging flowers, singing in choirs, spending time with his family and friends and especially his best friend Smokey. His favorite memories included traveling throughout Germany, Poland and Czechoslovakia while staying with host families.
In addition to his father, he is survived by three brothers, James M. Zettle and his wife Denise, of Spring Mills; William Zettle of Frederick, MD; Christian Douty and his wife, Tasha, of Houtzdale; four nephews, Drew and Layne Zettle, Kyle Zettle, and Cyrus Douty; one niece Phoenix Douty.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Thomas Holsinger, grandparents James E. and Romane A. Zettle and Raymond C. and Leona Corl.
A memorial visitation for family and friends will be held at his brother Jim's home (430 Summer Mtn. Rd., Spring Mills) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
