Obituary

David R. Jackson, 82, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.
He was born November 19, 1927 in Berryville, VA; a son of the late John Harvey and Bertha Mills Jackson.
On February 9, 1946, he married Anna B. Kitts who survives at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.
David served in the U. S. Army from 1946 to 1949.
Mr. Jackson was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Centre County Memorial Park, State College, for twenty five years, retiring in 1990. He attended the Church of God in Bellefonte for several years. He especially enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra K. Chamberlain and her companion Don Vonada of State College and Kathy D. Proctor and her husband Steve of Kearneysville, WVA; two sons David Lee Jackson and his wife Sherry Dawn of Bellefonte and Robert R. Jackson of Boalsburg; five sisters, Betty Sampson of Middletown, VA, Juanita Trenary of Bunker Hill WVA and Stella Trenary Kelchner of Bunker Hill WVA, Carol Stein and her husband Bill of Allentown and Nancy Hodgson and her companion Bob Grubbs of Florida; three brothers, Tiny W. Jackson and his wife Ruth of Winchester, VA, Albert Jackson and his wife Purscilla of Bunker Hill, WVA and Lawrence Jackson and his wife Delores of Kearneysville, WVA; twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Darlene Lucas; a daughter in law Pamela Jean Jackson; one sister Mary Barrow, and a brother Harry Jackson. Friends will be received from 6 - 8 p. m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at the funeral home with the Reverend Warren G. Somers officiating. Entombment will be private at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA
