March 8, 1926 – September 15, 2023
Dean B. Miller, 97, of Wynwood House, Bernel Road, State College entered into the arms of the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born March 8, 1926 in Madisonburg, Pa., he was the son of Nevin E. Miller & Fannie Schaeffer Miller. On July 6, 1947 in Marengo he married Dorothy Mae Rider who preceded him in death.
Upon high school graduation he served our country in the US Army.
Dean was an auto manager at Sears, owned and operated Dean's Gulf in Bellefonte and retired from Clearfield Lincoln Mercury as automotive service manager.
Dean and Dorothy spent many retirement years RVing and wintering in Florida.
Dean was an avid Penn State sports fan as well as the Pirates and Steelers and enjoyed them until the time of his passing.
Dean was the center of his close knit family which meant everything to him. He is survived by his four children, Darla Hanlen(Harvey) of Boalsburg, Debbie Behers (Kurt) of Spring Mills, Dennis Miller of Port Matilda and David Miller (Lynn) of Altoona. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Kari Kroh(Mark), Megan Penson (Jarod), Dana Hardy (Matt), Kevin Behers (Jamie), Rob Pearce (Danielle), Brian Miller (Jess), Lauren Hosterman, Cody Hosterman (Janice), Steven Miller, Emily Walk (Ray), Nevin Miller and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Hosterman; daughter-in-law, Cindy Miller; grandson, Brett Miller and sisters, Lois Vonada and Gladys Smith.
Services will be held Monday, September 25, 2023 at 11:30am at the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, 1500 E. Branch Road, State College, Pa.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church, https://mtnittanyumc.org.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Haky/Georgiana Centre County Funeral Home. An online guestbook may be signed and condolences left for the family at www.hakygeorgianafh.com
