Della Faye Smith, 43, of State College, and formerly of Bogue, North Carolina, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at Mount Nittany Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born on March 30, 1963 in Morehead City, NC to the late Elmo F. Smith and Macie Mann Smith of Morehead City, formerly of Bogue, NC.
She is survived by her companion, Tom Brown of State College; two sons, Joshua Steed, his wife, Tabitha, and son Ayden of Pittsboro, North Carolina, Devon Steed of Emporia, Virginia; two sisters, Marjorie Echols of Sandy Hook, Connecticut, and Sheila Purifoy of Newport, North Carolina; two brothers, Ronald Smith and his wife, Katherine, of Dothan, Alabama, and Michael Smith and his wife, Carolyn, of Floyd, Virgina; and 25 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmo Smith, and two brothers, Joseph Smith and Timothy Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the Centre County Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society Centre Unit, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801.
