Della M. Tice, 76, went home to be with her Lord, on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Mt. Nittany Medical Center at State College.
She was born November 12, 1930, in Spring Mills, a daughter of the late Elmer and Martha Hoy Smith.
On November 24, 1951, in Millheim, she married Russell L. Tice who survives at home. They were married for 56 years.
Della attended Beaver Dam School. She retired from Hanover Brands at Centre Hall after 42 years of service.
She enjoyed going to church, singing the old hymns, baking homemade bread and pies, and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Tice was a member of Green Grove Brethren in Christ Church near Spring Mills, where she was active in teaching Sunday School and Bible School, cooking meals for shut-ins, the women's sewing circle, and holding women's prayer meetings in her home.
Della is survived by four daughters, Karen Taylor and her husband Maurice, Eva Weaver and her husband Roy, Donna Campbell and her husband Dennis, all of Bellefonte, and Joyce Holderman and her Fianc, Mike Snook, of California; two sons Barry Tice and his wife Connie of Spring Mills, and Timothy Tice Sr. of Julian; 22 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Olive Witmer.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and Carl Tice Sr.; and one brother, Oren Smith.
Friends will be received from 6 - 9 p. m. Sunday, February 18, 2007, at Green Grove Brethren In Christ Church, 301 Brush Mountain Road, Spring Mills, PA. The funeral will be at 11:00 a. m. Monday, February 19, at the church, with the Rev. Darrell Smucker officiating. Burial will be in the Heckman Cemetery, Heckman Cemetery Road, Spring Mills, PA
