Diane M. Nossek died September 13, 2007 peacefully at her home in Toftrees after a valiant battle with cancer.
Ms. Nossek was born December 4, 1950 in Pittsburgh to the late J. Paul and Lucille M. Nossek.
Ms. Nossek graduated from Marymont College in Virginia and LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. She was very influential in starting the literacy program in the North Pittsburgh area. She managed the family property in the Shadyside section of Pittsburgh and displayed her considerable artistic talents through her store, 'The Linen Closet' in Pittsburgh.
After her original diagnosis of cancer, she moved to State College to be closer to her surviving family members. She leaves many wonderful memories with her two best friends - her sisters, Paula Nossek and Noreen Byers. She was a favorite relative of her loving nephew, Jeff Byers and her dear niece, Jennifer Schreck, as well as her brother in law, Jim Byers, nephew in law Mark Schreck, and her grandnephews, Sam and CJ Schreck. She is also survived by her beloved mutt, Otis.
She is also survived by many, many friends, who will miss her easy manner, open heart, and lively wit.
There will be a celebration of her life at the convenience of her family in the spring, when they can plant a tree in her honor.
Memorial Contributions should be made in Ms. Nossek's memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or to your local Hospice Agency.
