Dolores A. Tocci, 78, of State College, died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Fairways at Brookline Village in State College.
She was born Aug 22, 1928, in Blairsville, PA, a daughter of the late Michael and Amelia Abirad Asper.
On August 16, 1952, she married Joseph Tocci who survives at home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, M. J. Tocci and her husband Jonathan Rest, of Pittsburgh; two sons Joseph Michael Tocci and his wife Susan, of Belmont, MA and Timothy John Tocci of Yellow Springs, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sam, Zoe, Catherine, Joey and Brandon; one sister, Helen Gray of Joliet, IL; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Dolores graduated from Blairsville High School in 1946 and completed one year of college, before going on to a business training school, now known as Robert Morris College, graduating with a degree as a Medical Secretary.
Mrs. Tocci was a homemaker who earlier in life worked as a medical secretary.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in State College, and a member of the Nittany Lion Club.
An avid Penn State sports fan, she especially enjoyed Penn State basketball, volleyball and football.
Friends will be received 2:30 p. m. to 3:30 p. m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:30 p. m. Monday, at the church with Monsignor David A. Lockard as Celebrant.
Graveside services and burial will be at 11:30 a. m. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at the Blairsville Cemetery, Old Route 22, Blairsville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to National Shrine of St. Jude, Claretian Missionaries, 20 South Monroe St., Chicago, IL 60606.
