Donald L. DeArmitt, 76, of Pleasant Gap went to be with our Lord, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his residence.
Born February 8, 1940 he was the son of the late Charles and Marion (Albright) DeArmitt.
On April 24, 1965 he married the former Molly J. Hassinger, who survives at home.
Donald was a US Army veteran serving his country from 1962-1964. He worked for the PA Game Commission as a deputy game protector and then land management until his retirement in 2001.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing woodwork and carpentry in his workshop.
In addition to his wife Molly, he is survived by four daughters, Christine DeArmitt of Sandy Ridge, Carol DeArmitt-Meyers (Scott) of Pleasant Gap, Deborah Ficarro (Joseph) of Bellefonte and Rebecca DeArmitt (Joel Negron) of Barceloneta, Puerto Rico; one brother, Charles "Red" DeArmitt of Pleasant Gap; four grandchildren, Amanda Kempenich (Jon) of North Carolina, SrA Michael Moore of Spangdahlem AB Germany, Robert Ficarro of Bellefonte and Alison Negron-DeArmitt of Puerto Rico; and one great grandson, Tre Kempenich.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, Raymond and his sister Evelyn Neff.
A memorial service with military honors will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 226 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Centre Hall. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
