Donald L Ross, 85, of State College, passed away Saturday June 1, 2013.

He was born November 8, 1927 in Potter Township, son of the late Earl Ross and Mary Homan Ross.

On August 20, 1956 he married Mildred J. Wilson Ross, who preceded him in death on August 20, 2009.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Richard H. Ross, Margaret A. Weaver and Dean F. Ross.

Don was a graduate of Potter Township High School. He was a veteran of World War II, Seaman First Class V6 USNR, an aviation machinist. He received the victory medal.

He was employed by Sprague and Henwood Drilling Co. and spent the large part of his career employed by Erie Technological Products/Murata Erie, in Research and Development.

Don enjoyed his family and grandchildren, gardening and puttering around his house and camp. Throughout his life he enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, snowmobiles, motorcycles and hunting. He belonged to the Elks, the American Legion and the Walnut Acres Hunting Camp.

Don was known for his good nature and easy smile. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa Lunnen and husband Keith Lunnen, grandsons Andrew and Kevin Lunnen of Essex, MA; a step-son Keith Graham of Camp Hill, PA, grandchildren Scott Graham and Kristin Bender and a step-son Craig Graham and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00 to 1:00pm Monday June 10, 2013 at Mark D Heintzelman Funeral Home, 1034 Benner Pike, State College with funeral services at 1:00 pm. Burial in Centre County Memorial Park.
