IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Yuvonne
Hinds
August 13, 1946 – July 21, 2024
Donna Y.
Hinds, age 77, of Madisonburg, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
July 21, 2024 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born August 13, 1946
in Bellefonte, PA, she was the daughter of the late Richard M. Summers and
Veronica C Summers. On April 8, 1994 she married Thomas A Hinds, Sr., who
preceded her in death on September 21, 2012.
Donna
was a devoted mother to her four children: Bobette I. Myers (Daryl) of
Madisonburg, Merle A. Wertz (April) of Centre Hall, Tangy Y. Baird (Tony) of
Centre Hall and Nicki L. Wertz (Chad) of Bellefonte. Also surviving are brothers,
George Summers (Pauline) of Centre Hall, Terry Summers (Nicole) of Bellefonte,
Richard Summers (Ada) of Rebersburg and Thomas Summers of Bellefonte. Her
brother Ronald Summers passed away July 25, 2023.
Donna
was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Mitchell (Jill), Gregory (Kaitlyn), Amanda
(Tyler), Brandon (Courtney), Kyle (Bethany), Kailee, Cody, Chase, Jacob
(Gabrial) and Shawn. She was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren and her
"adopted" grandchildren Jimmy and Ella Mae Miller. She is also survived by her
companion of 6 years Robert McCue of Myerstown and his two children, Tina
(Harry) and Michael (Daniel).
Donna
was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 867 in Pleasant Gap. She enjoyed
fishing and crafting. In her crafting days, she could be found at all the local
craft shows with her longtime crafting buddies. Donna was blessed with many
close friends – she looked forward to the monthly "birthday" dinners with her
"Oaks Girls". She had a tight circle of friends and she loved each of them
dearly.
In
the last several years, Donna enjoyed traveling, but what she enjoyed best was
spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
were her world. She also had a furry companion – Roy – her four-legged cat
friend.
A private
service will be held at Centre Memorial Park State College at the convenience
of the family. A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced
when completed.
In
lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society and
365 Hospice.
