Doris I. (Humes) Bradley, 89, of State College, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Monday, August 20, 1923 in Salina, Kansas, the daughter of the late Harry H. and Agnes I. (Howison) Humes.

On July 13, 1952, she married James A. Bradley who preceded her in death on January 15, 2010.

Doris and Jim were beloved by many servicemen and their spouses, providing a home away from home for many. They continued in their work together serving with the United Missionary Fellowship, Missionary Flights International, and with Friends of New Tribes Missions.

Doris began volunteering at the local Breast Care Centre in 2010 and continued there through April, 2013. She was known to many in the State College area as "The Scrubbie Lady."

Surviving Doris are two daughters: Barbara Ann Peters (Marshall Peters) of State College and Carol Sue Middleton (Harold Middleton) of Harlan, Kentucky; two sons: Michael Bradley (Shirley Bradley) of Lakeland Florida/Hungary and Richard Bradley of Seattle, Washington; one sister, Norma Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers, Richard P. Humes of Tucson, Arizona and Harley H. Humes of Sioux City, Iowa; and twelve grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Messenger.

Visitation will be held at 3:00 P.M. until time of memorial service beginning at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College.
