Dorothy M. Braucht, 79, of rural Spring Mills, died Saturday, October 25, 2008, at Salem Hill Haven where she had resided for eleven years.
She was born September 10, 1929, in Gregg Township., Centre County; a daughter of the late Wilbur E. and Tenchia Zettle Confer.
Earlier in life she was married to Charles Braucht.
Dorothy worked in the Cannery Store at Centre Hall, Duffy's Tavern in Boalsburg, The Millheim Sewing Factory, and worked on the family farm raising pheasants for the Spring Mills Fish and Game Association. She also assisted people in their homes following childbirth, and served as a baby sitter for many years.
She was a member of Sprucetown United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family, refinishing furniture, farming and she loved animals.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter Judy M. Brown and her husband Robert of rural Spring Mills; one sister Bernice M. Grove and her husband Gerald of rural Spring Mills and two brothers Alvin B. "Sam" Confer and his wife Peg of Potters Mills, and Elwood E. Confer of rural Spring Mills; and one granddaughter, Lisa Bailey and her husband Scott of Pittsburgh, PA; and two great grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Baily.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Irene Moyer.
Friends will be received from 10:00 -11:00 a. m. Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 226 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Centre Hall, PA. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a. m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Michael Covalt officiating. Burial will follow in the Sprucetown United Methodist Church Cemetery.
