DOROTHY L. CARR
Dorothy L. Carr, 89, a resident of Centre Crest Nursing Home, Bellefonte, PA, died Sunday, October 15, 2007. She was born May 18, 1918, in Camden, New Jersey, a daughter of Mearcy Ann Harker and Charles Henry Genter. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, New Jersey and married Paul H. Niessner on November 18, 1941. On November 21, 1965 she married Anthony J. Carr.
Dorothy was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Centre Hall and was an active member of her churches throughout her life. She was also a member of the Centre Hall Seniors Citizens, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She retired from Exxon Mobile in 1984 as a Clerk-Typist working in the payroll department. Her interests included sewing, knitting, reading, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy L. Sauerwein and her husband Russell L. Sauerwein of Centre Hall, PA; Carolyn J. Wiram and her husband G. Michael Wiram of Phoenix, AZ; Lyne I. Carr of San Diego, CA; a son, Paul H. Niessner, Jr. of Buena, NJ; and brother Charles H. Genter of Westville, NJ.
She is also survived by 9 grand-children: Teresa L. Armor and her husband Ryan of Pittsburgh, PA; Robert E. Sauerwein of State College, PA; Mark A. Sauerwein of Downingtown, PA; Jason and Jennifer Wiram of Phoenix, AZ; Summer Lyne Sweeney and her husband Daniel of San Diego, CA; Sharon M. Locilento , and Christine, and John Niessner of Pennsauken, NJ.
Great grandchildren include Noelle Song Armor, Natalie Bree Armor of Pittsburgh, PA , Aidan Paul Sweeney of San Diego, CA; Shane Niessner, David, Chelsea and Isabella Locilento of Pennsauken, NJ. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 301 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Centre Hall on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at 10:00 am. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a. m. until the service. Burial will follow the service at The Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery of Centre Hall, on Church Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 301 N. Pennsylvania Ave., P. O. Box 331, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
