Douglas E. Cowher, 66, of Woodward died Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center at Danville.

He was born May 20, 1952 at Bellefonte, a son of Helen (Betty) Alterio Cowher who survives in Millheim, and the late Joseph Cowher.

On February 7, 1970, he married Althea Jean Greib Cowher who survives at home.

Mr. Cowher owned and operated Cowher's Garage in Woodward for many years.

Douglas especially enjoyed Elvis music, watching golf, NASCAR and westerns; but more importantly enjoyed spending time with his children and spoiling his grandchildren.

Surviving Mr. Cowher in addition to his mother and wife is one daughter Bobbie J. Lamey (John) of Jersey Shore, one son Billy Hosterman of Spring Mills; two sisters, Brenda Bartley (Lou) of Millheim and Susan Neideigh (Courtney) of Aaronsburg; four brothers, Rick Cowher (Patty) of Castanea, Robert Cowher of Millheim, Charles Cowher (Janet) of Centre Hall, Buddy Cowher (Beth) of Millhein; five grandchildren, Samantha Allen, Hali Zerbe, Dalton Zerbe, Brayden Cowher and Payton Cowher; one daughter in law, Jennifer Henninger, and one brother in law, Gary Osterhoudt.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son Douglas Cowher and two sisters Joann Osterhoudt and Holly Melissa Cowher, and one brother, Joseph V. "Butch" Cowher.

Following his wishes all services will be private at the convenience of the family.
