Obituary

Edgar Bruce Leightley, 67, of Centre Hall, passed away at his home Wednesday, May 30, 2018 after a brave battle with congestive heart disease. Born March 18, 1951 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Harry Edgar Leightley and Marian Agnes Treaster Leightley.

A 1969 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School, he was a member of Future Farmers of America and had been recognized as a Master Farmer in Centre Hall. A successful third generation farmer, in addition to his own crops, Ed did custom planting and harvesting and supported preservation of agricultural land.

He is survived by his brother, John Arthur Leightley, Lutz, FL and his long-time companion, Mary Resides, State College along with numerous cousins. Always a devoted pet lover, he missed all his pets, particularly his last dog, Buddy.

Abiding with his wishes there will be no public visitation and after cremation, his ashes will be scattered on the farm that has been in the family since 1913. He was a good friend to all and will be greatly missed.

An online guestbook may be signed and condolences sent to the family at www.heintzelmanfuneralhome.com
